A. Broward Obituary

BROWARD A. Sidney Broward, III, 60, passed away Sunday morning, February 18, 2007. He was preceded by his wife of 33 years, Jean Milligan Broward. He is survived by his wife of 5 years, Kimberly Baker Broward; his son George Broward (Nicole); daughter Karen Starling (Joshua); son Charles Broward; his stepson Cason, stepdaughters Cara and Hannah Vogel; three granddaughters, Sydney and Emily Starling and Lydia Broward. He is also survived by his sister Karen B. DeLuca (Michael); one niece, several nephews and many loving friends and relatives. Sid was born in Jacksonville to A. Sidney Broward, Jr., and Marguerite Rodgers Broward. He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor degree in Political Science, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Sid started his business career working for Broward Outdoor Advertising in Daytona Beach. He also worked as an insurance agent in Jacksonville before becoming a successful commercial real estate broker. Sid was active in various organizations including the Northside Business Leader's Club, Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Jacksonville Quarterback Club and the American Cancer Society. Finally, he coached at Highlands Little League and was a Boy Scout troop leader. The family will be receiving visitors at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 on Wednesday, February 21 from 6 to 8 PM. The service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM with Rev. Chris A. Coram officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his memory to the Florida Georgia Blood Alliance, 536 W 10th Street, Jacksonville, FL, 32206. Active pallbearers are Stephen DeLuca, Christopher DeLuca, Thomas Hury, Gordon Vines, Joe Warwick and Mark Arnold. Honorary pallbearers are Walter Arnold, L.T. discussed "politics" and I enjoyed
