MCCONNELL A Funeral Service celebrating the life of Mrs. Amanda Harrison McConnell will be held 11AM, MONDAY, May 1, 2017 at Gateway to Heaven Christian Church, Rev. Dr. Carlton Jones and Rev. Dr. Walter Johnson, Pastors. Mrs. McConnell passed away peacefully April 23, 2017. A native of Jacksonville, she attended the local public schools of Nassau County, graduating from Peck High School - Class of 1941. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul J. McConnell. Survivors include her children, Pastor Michael McConnell (Gloria), Ms. Janice McConnell-Green, Mrs. Diane McConnell Smith (Rev. Karl) and Walter T. McConnell; grandchildren, Karl Smith, Jr. (Nikki), Ms. Kendra Shealey, Ms. Patrice McConnell, Ms. Monica Green Reddick, Marcus Green (Lisa), Mrs. Kimberly Smith-Warthen (Malik), Mrs. Jamie McConnell-Ray (Maurice) and Joshua R. McConnell; 14 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth McConnell, Mrs. Helen Brown, Mrs. Rosa Roberts, Mrs. Nellie Jo Lundy and Mrs. Jenny Dwyer; a number of other relatives and friends. Mrs. McConnell will rest in the mortuary for visitation SUNDAY from 3PM until 5PM and Monday at the church from 9AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery.
