Catherine Crabtree-Key Obituary

CRABTREE-KEY Catherine Elizabeth Crabtree-Key died unexpectedly August 18, 2009. She was 55 years old and predeceased by her parents Al and Winkie Crabtree. Cathi was a life long resident of Jacksonville. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening. She touched many people's lives with her huge heart and love for all. She spent many years as a legal assistant and was greatly admired by her co-workers. Survivor's include her husband Robert “Bob” Key; stepchildren, Misty Smith, Morgantown, W. VA. and Joseph Key, Shreveport, LA; her sister, Connie Crabtree Wiggins (Tom), Atlanta, GA, and their children, Cathi Loftin (Johnny) and their son Matthew, Raleigh-Durham, NC and Chris Wiggins (Barrie) and their daughters, Lauren and Lilly, Atlanta, GA; her brothers, Chip Crabtree (Lori) their children, Zachary, Ross and Chase and Randy Crabtree (Phyllis) and his children, Chris and Ali and stepdaughter Deanna Higdon, St. Augustine; also several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 21, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at the Historic St. Joseph's Catholic Church on 4124 Loretta Rd. Jacksonville, FL with Father Bernie Ahern as the celebrant. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the mass. Interment will follow in Mandarin Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Cathi's nephews, Chris Wiggins, Chris Crabtree, Zachary Crabtree, Chase Crabtree and Ross Crabtree. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd. Jax, FL. 32216. Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Crabtree Family,
My heart is out to everyone of you. I know this is a great loss. We have had many laughs and wonderful days over the years. Howard said it correct with her big smile and large heart of gold. I know in my heart that Cathi is now at peace.
