Charles Brendler Obituary

BRENDLER Charles O. Brendler, of Gainesville died Thursday. He was 70. Mr. Brendler was born in Madison, Wis., and moved to Gainesville in 2001 from Jacksonville. He was a regional sales manager for Sterling Health. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where he served as an usher. Mr. Brendler played basketball for the Gators in the late 1950's and was inducted the Jacksonville University Sports Hall of Fame for his achievements there. He was a member of the Gainesville Quarterback Club, Gator Boosters and University of Florida Alumni Association. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and Gator Athletics F Club Letterman. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Martha Sue Brendler of Gainesville; a son, Kevin Brendler of Tampa; a daughter, Kelley Brendler of Gainesville; and brothers John Brendler of Madison and Louis Brendler of San Antonio, Texas. Arrangements by Williams Thomas Funeral Home in Gainesville. The family will receive friends Monday e vening from 7-8:00 pm at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gainesville. A Prayer Vigil Service will begin at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at 9:00am Tuesday, April 12.
