CHARLES FESSLER Obituary

FESSLER CHARLES WESLEY FESSLER SR., Charlie, 94, went to be with the Lord, in Windermere, Florida on May 19, 2012. The son of the late Clifford and Lena Fessler of Lima, Ohio, is survived by Miriam (Midge) Fessler, his loving wife of 68 years. He leaves behind three sons and their families to cherish his memory: Charles Fessler Jr. (Judy) of Jacksonville, Robert (Susan) of Newberg, OR, and Stephen (Randall Lord) of Windermere; five grandchildren: James Fessler, Deborah Copeland, Laura Wilson, Michael Fessler, David Fessler; and ten great-grandchildren. Charlie will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and ability to deliver a good joke. Music was a passion of Charlie's. He was an accomplished musician, painter and baker, who owned and operated a bakery in the 1950's in Jacksonville. He gave his time and talents to benefit others as a volunteer at St. Vincent's Hospital and All Saints Nursing home. As a Shriner, he drove crippled children from Jacksonville to Tampa to receive treatment at the Shriner's Hospital for Children. He is a past president of the German American Club of Jacksonville. Charlie proudly served in the United States Army, fighting for our freedom in World War II. Most importantly, he will now cheer on his beloved Gators from Heaven. Memorial service will be held at Lake Shore United Methodist Church on Tuesday, May 29th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the charity of your choice is requested. Reading Mr. Fessler's obit warmed my heart. I haven't heard the name "Charles Fessler" since I was at Pine Hills Elementary School. A very fine family, one that I have remembered for over forty years; led by what must have been a warm and loving patriarch. My sympathy for your loss. Your family's legacy goes far beyond your knowledge. With deep regards for you all, especially Charles, Jr.
