God blessed me blessed me richly by bringing Chris into my life. Chris was a pioneer of the grocery industry in Florida and Georgia pioneering Food Lion opening stores and their rapid expansion.
Later Chris managed the retail shops at the Jacksonville and other airports. Anytime I was traveling it was a MUST to stop by and say hi. Chris always greeted you like it was just an hour ago since he saw me.
I remember many wonderful time doing business together and socializing. Blessings to the family, Rick Ford, PepsiCo Retired and past President North Florida, South Georgia Grocery Association

It’s been a long time and my memories are scarce. I know I still miss you. I wish you got to see me now. I wish you could have known all of us more. You were always fun and upbeat. You would have loved the people we have become. Your passing helped to mold me into who I am today however. It is a tough situation to be in. I pray you still look upon us. I wish I got the chance to eat wings with you. I miss you Bo.

8 years have passed now since that horrible day that you left us. I was in shock and disbelief and numb. I loved you dearly in life and love you even though you are not here. 34 years was not long enough. We still had big plans ahead. I still feel you at home. You left me with a huge hole in my heart. I miss your big bear hugs that no one could replace. The boys have gotten so big. I really hate that the younger ones don't remember you. The girls and I have tried to help each other. We will never know the reason you left us . We knew you loved us and I know you know that we loved you. I miss dancing with you ( A lot) . I hope you are dancing in heaven. Give my Mom a twirl. lol Forever Love, Che' Che'

My best friend, my soul mate, my daughters father, the love of my life. These are only some of the words I use to describe you. I could go on and on. You were my everything. When I lost you I didn't know how to go on. It was always Chris and Cheryl. Now it's only Cheryl. I have been trying to be me without you. That's the hardest thing that I have ever had to do. Today has been 2 years since you left. I still feel you every where.I love you just as much today and miss you even more. I still want this to be a real long dream and I desperately want to wake up. So until I get to see you again I will cherish all of our memories and the good times that we shared. Forever Love, Che' Che'

Cheryl and girls,
I just found out Chris had passed away in 2012 and I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Chris as someone who never met a stranger and a man who had not met me when I was hired for the Wappoo Rd Food Lion but when he came in during the store set up he made it a point to stop and introduce his self and knew all about me which really impressed me that he took the time to know his employees and let them know. I was glad I made the journey from Charleston, SC to Jax, Fl with the both of you and I always had so much respect for a man who took his wife and girls as top priority which seems to be rare these days. I wish you and the girls and those grandchildren the best and knowing your ANGEL is watching over you all.

Danny and I send our sincere heartfelt condolences to you and your family. The eight years that we lived across from you bear sweet memories - watching the three first grandsons grow and seeing Chris pulling them in the wagon through the neighborhood (at Christmas with his Santa cap on) and always a smile on his face. We will cherish those memories and hope that you will come stay with us for a get-away vacation when you're able to. Know that we love you and are praying for you and yours.

Cheryl--I took Rick to the airport today, since he had scheduled a mission trip to Indonesia. His plans were to see Chris this morning and hopefully, have a Pepsi with him and catch up on Forner news. With tears pouring down my face at this moment, it is hard to see what I'm writing. I just wanted to tell you how very sorry we are to have learned today about Chris. Food Lion and Pepsi brought us together and the blessing was getting to know you. You two were a match made in Heaven! You and Chris had the genuine gift of Southern hospitality! : ) Although we don't understand why you and Chris didn't get to complete your plans on Earth, we have no doubt that all of us will see him again. We will be ready to get that great big bear hug that came so naturally for Chris.
At this moment we send our love, give our condolences to the family and we will keep you in prayer, as your heart heals.
God bless you, Cheryl. We are so sorry for your loss. Chris adored you, the girls and his grand children. He was just full of love and he showered it on everyone. What a special man and a gift to all of us--Chris will be in our hearts forever.
Our love. . .

My Bo,
It has taken me a while to write something about you.
How can I describe what you meant to me? You were the love of my life, my best friend, my husband, the father of out two beautiful daughters, grand-father of the best 5 grand-sons anyone could ever imagine and friend to every one you came in contact with.
I am trying my best to go on without you, but this is the most difficult thing that I have ever had to do.
You left me way too soon. We were supposed to renew our vows next year.
We had vacations that we wanted to take. We wanted to retire together.
We had so many things left to do.
I am trying to be strong for the girls and all of the grand-sons .
We all miss you so much.
The hardest part is when I am home by myself. I've always had you here with me. The night time is the worst. I miss your loving arms around me.My heart aches and longs for you.
Only God knows when I'll see you again, but I know you will be there waiting on me. I love you so much!
Forever Love,

To the Forner Family, my Heart Goes out to you. The loss of someone so Dynamic as Chris ,for all of us is almost unbearable. Knowing he is with God and that we will see him again someday is what will get us through such sadness. When ever I had the pleasure of being with Chris, he always paid me a sincere compliment and made me feel so special. I loved teaming up with him and feel honored to have know him for the 11 years I have been with The Paradies Family. Eleven years was not enough, but I am so fortunate to have had that time with him as a friend and Co-worker.

It was great seeing him at our recent mtg. . .and without fail, I got my bear-hug! Deepest sympathy to the entire Forner Family. Chris will be greatly missed.

I met Chris through my husband Paul who works for the Paradies corporate office. The yearly management seminars gave me the opportunity to meet and get to know many of the Paradies people. Chris was far and away one of my favorite people on the planet! He was so fun & funny, full of life, and kind. He always made me feel welcome at events even though I was the "spouse" and not an employee, and I looked forward to catching up with him every year. I will miss him and will remember him always.

The first time I met Chris was sitting at a luncheon table during one of our seminars. From that time forward, I new I had a friend for life. I will miss the bear hugs and the warm 'I love you baby' he gave each of us.

Chris as Paradies Manager of the Year
May 11, 2012
We have a tradition at The Paradies Shops we call "Chip of the Week." This week, we are pleased to uplift Chris as the May 11, 2012 Chip of the Week:
Sunday, May 6th we learned that Chris Forner, our General Manager of the Jacksonville International Airport location, had passed away at the young age of 56. As the news of Chris' transition spread throughout the organization, it was immediately evident that we had lost a very special member of our Paradies family – a true friend, a man who never met a stranger, a husband, father, grandfather and mentor to many.
Chris joined the company 16 years ago and without a doubt made a lasting impression on all those who met him. As Gregg Paradies stated in his e-mail Monday morning, “Chris was known for his larger-than-life presence, his enthusiasm for our company and the business, and for his passion for developing excellent relationships and friendships with his peers, team members, airports, and brand/vendor partners.”
If you've had the opportunity to read through any of the sentiments posted on Chris' online obituary, you will see evidence that yes, Chris did have an innate gift to make everyone with whom he interacted feel very special; he had a true heart of gold. He was amazing and was there for any person, any time, no matter the need or request.
As a Paradies General Manager, Chris was tops and was recognized for his contributions as the recipient of almost every award the company gives including Manager of the Year (multiple years), PR (countless times – Chris was PR!), Nuts and Bolts, Human Resources and Payroll Management, and countless others. Chris and his Jacksonville team were the first-ever recipient of our “Best Places to Work” award which recognizes one location each year that lives the mission, embraces our core values and goes above and beyond to cultivate the family culture for which TPS is known.
As a representative of our organization, many of you know that Chris was very instrumental in the success of our PGA Tour business, as Jacksonville was our first PGA TOUR Shop and is home of the PGA TOUR. Chris cultivated many great relationships with top TOUR executives and our Jacksonville PGA TOUR Shop has been consistently recognized on Golf World Magazine's “100 Best Golf Shops” list.
It was standing-room only at the service yesterday and for those who were able to attend, there were scores more who wanted to but could not. Chris was an incredible person, leader, and friend who will be greatly missed. Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers with all those who will miss him during this very difficult time.
God Bless You Chris Forner and may you rest in peace.
- The Paradies Shops and the Paradies family of associates

Cheryl and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am certain Chris never met a stranger as he was at his best making all of us so comfortable being around him. Our conversations would start only in two ways: "Gator-man, this is Jag-man" or "Jag-man, this is Gator-man". It only depended on which of us placed the call. To say that he will be missed is an understatement as he blessed all who crossed his path. All of you are in our prayers.

We little knew that morning God was going to call your name, in life we loved you dearly and in death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you; you did not go alone for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. I worked with Chris at The Paradies Shops (I was in Atlanta and he was in Jacksonville). I moved to Jacksonille and lived there for 2 years and loved to see Chris each time I traveled through the airport! Chris was a joy to be around and his enthusiasm for life was contagious! My most fond memory of him was when he and I went to the Super Bowl in Miami together and he helped get tee shirts to all the stores in Ft. Lauderdale at midnight after the game. What a great guy .... he will be missed!

I worked with Chris for 3 years in Jax. Poor Chris, I was placed into his location, a Canadian transplanted into the south, extremely talkative (Chris had a short attention span, I learn quickly how to deliver my SPIEL before his eyes glazed over) and was new to the Airport retail business. Chris took me under his wing and showed me everything. He was an amazing teacher!
Chris was always the first one to help out anyone in need. Always there with a smile and great tales to make you laugh. Chris loved his family and also his work family.
He and I had talked about the old 70's karate movies one day, and it stuck with us for years in our communications. When I left Jax to go to other locations, if I needed help, I always called Chris and just said "Master, it's Grasshopper" and he would dropped everything and help me out.
My prayers go out to the family.
Thank you Master, I will miss you......Grasshopper.

While my husband Ken worked with Chris, I knew him for his heart for City Rescue Mission and all the people in this community who were homeless and addicted. A man of Faith, who spoke often of the love he had for his wife, children and those wonderful grandchildren. I cannot remember a time when there was a need that Chris did not make himself available. I know he's with the Lord, but I wish he was still here with us. Thank you for sharing this great man.

Chris, I am at your house, and it isn't the same without you.You were more like a brother to me, than a brother-in-law. Thanks for taking care of my sister all of these years. Your kindness, and your generosity will live on through your girls, and grandsons. Heaven gained another angel. You will be welcomed with open arms from Mom and Dad, who also considered you another son, who took care of their baby girl. I will always love you, and will be there for your wife, girls, son-in-laws and grandsons!!

Chris, you will be remembered forever! I feel privilaged to have met you and your family way back before the airport and then to have had the great time we had there is irreplaceable! I know you will be with us in memory and spirit and I want to thank you for being such a great friend, Council Chairman and my Council Golf Tournement Co-Chair for some may years. The way you viewed the world and the way to treated others was unique and priceless. You never met a stranger and stranger always felt like they had known you for years! Cheryl, Chrissy and Chera(hope I got the spelling right!), I know no words here will ease your pain but stay the course and the Lord will help you get thru this as Chris would have told you the same thing. God Bless and may He keep you and wrap His arms around you and comfort you in this difficult time. David Dunkley

I had know Chris for 12 years while working at JIA. I am deeply saddened by my friend. Chris was full of joy and such a good person. The last time I saw Chris was a charity golf event that he was involved with for a police officer who had worked at the airport who was extremely ill. That's what Chris was so good was that he cared for everyone. I will miss you Chris. God Bless the family and RIP Chris.

I had the privilege of working with Chris at The Paradies Shops. Chris was such a fun upbeat guy that made a lasting impression with me. Here's Chris at a Paradies meeting when I threw him in the pool. He only stayed mad for a few seconds. Chris you will be missed buddy.

Chris, we miss you, Buddy. I will always remember you for your larger than life, outgoing personality, your kindness, and the way you always treated everyone like family. You and Mrs. Forner are the best neighbors anyone could ask for. You are sadly missed and we are thinking about you.

Mr. Forner, hired me at Harris Teeter in 1980. I can still hear him say, " Smile Becky" he was always smiling. Then we worked together at Food Lion. He was a wonderful manager ... It was an honor to have worked for him. Keeping your family in my prayers.

Chris was one of those special people that everyone loved and cherished; he changed the lives of everyone he met in some small or profound way. He will be sadly missed; yet he is closer than we know, because it is his light that will continue to shine our world. May comfort and hope be with the Forner family during this difficult time.

Chrissy, I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't know your dad personally but I feel as if I did because you and your boys are extensions of him and the wonderful man he was. He is blessed to have such a wonderful and loving family and he will continue to thrive in your hearts and the memories you shared. Find comfort in knowing that he is watching over you, Mario and the boys and that you will be with him again some day. God bless!

Cheryl,
My father Jack and I both had the pleasure of working with Chris at The Paradies Shops. Even though I no longer work there and my father is no longer with us, Chris has maintained close contact with me and my family, and most recently worked closely with my wife Ceri at the PGA TOUR.
Even before I met him, my father shared with me just how unique of a person Chris was. Trust me, his best description didn't even come close to describing him. Chris had a wonderful way of making a lasting impression on everyone he came across and for that, I will never forget him.
A few weeks ago, Chris made a special trip to the PGA TOUR offices in Ponte Vedra Beach to drop a present off to my wife for our 10 month old daughter. Unfortunately, Charlotte never got the chance to meet Chris, but we certainly cherish the silly gift he was so thoughtful to give her.
Just this past Sunday morning, Chris again had my family on his mind. He sent an email pledging to donate money to the foundation we have in my father's honor. I find it very comforting that in his last hours with us, my father's foundation, as well as the people it helps, was on his mind. That simple gesture is a true reflection of the type of person Chris was - one who constantly thought of others.
We all know that Chris is in a better place, and I know my Dad now has someone to laugh and enjoy an adult beverage or 2 with. The Mobley family is terribly sorry for your loss.
