Memories and Condolences
for Donald Matchett

Not sure what to say?

September 18, 2003

I served in the Naval Reserve with Mr. Matchette for many years. He was the CO of MIUW 6-2 and as fine a man as I ever knew. He was easy going and soft spoken but had the ability to get the mission accomplished. My sincere condolances to his family.

To the family: I placed Mr. Donald Machett's Obituary on the Classmates.com site Message Board for his Miami High School Class of 1948. I also randomly picked 7 in his Class and sent the Obituary to them.

I am sorry to read about your loss. He must have been quite a guy and to have been an outstanding athlete on two Football State Championship teams is quite an honor in itself.

I have nothing but good memories of Don from my years with Prudential in Jacksonville. While we never worked closely together, he always had the information and willingness to assist when called upon.

My sincere sympathies

I have fond memories of Don. He interviewed me at Stetson University and hired me for Prudential. I went to work in the old Cost Allocation area in June, 1963. Over the years I worked in other divisions with him. He was sharp and had a ready laugh. Don was fun to be around. God bless all family members. I know you will miss him.

I'm very sorry to hear about Don's passing. I remember he and Carol taking me to Suns baseball games, hockey games, coaching Gray-Y football in 6th grade with Scott and me on the same team. Everybody liked and respected Don. He was also a very patient person and coach.
