Dear Anne,

Having lost my wife of 49 years on Dec. 20, 2003, I have some idea of what you are going through. My prayers are with you and the family. I played ball with Fernando at Wyndwood Park in Miami for approximately 6 years (1945-51), along with Jack and John Rabun, who informed me of his passing. May God richly bless you.

Anne,Tony, Gina, Connor,

You and your family will always be in our thoughts. It was great to see the many seeds that Fernando left behind, and the most important thing, is to know how all those seeds will flourish, and continue to pass it on. We love you guys. we are only a phone call away. Love the Granadoses.

I didn't know Fernando José, but I knew and worked along with his father "Caney". My group was known as the "Rey Mambo Combo". I remember Conjunto Caney as one of the best around with a distinctive, typical sound. I remember Elio, his bassist and Tony Negret, his singer later joined my group at the Palm Beach Hotel in 1948. Mike Ocasio, trumpet-player on one of his albums also worked for me. Caney was one of the best!

Anne,

As a presenting couple, we never know how we will touch the couples that listen to the sharing on the weekends. When we went to the Convention in Lafayette and heard your story, it forever stayed in our hearts. The fact that Fernando was a Cursillista was a added plus since both of us also began our journey closer with the Lord after our Cursillo experience. Recently a oldies radio station took the airwaves, and every time we hear that song, we remember both of you, and do a sing along, remembering the sharing. Our prayers are with you and the memories will be in our hearts forever...

"I love you more today than yesterday...but not as much as tomorow." These are the words Fernando and Ann sang with us at EE convention in Lafayette, La.last summer. Wow! Your testimony and witness to the staying power in a Christ- centered marriage will never be forgotten. If God's love for us is anything like the love for each other you demonstrated, then we are all very blessed indeed.

Dear Anne,

On behalf of the CEE Mobile Community ,our deepest and heartfelt sympathy on our loss of a loving and wonderful friend. We had the pleasure of seeing "Coach's" award winning smile for eleven years. Three mornings a week, Fernando would crawl out of bed to come be with me and his friends. Yes, we are the morning racquetball crowd. He so loved playing the game and he performed so very well. A ball hit off the back wall was a potential "rollout" kill shot for the master. Always a sportsman in victory and the occasional loss. He was a sportsman first. Thanks for the "once of a lifetime" pleasure of making the trip to "Gatorville" to share a football game. Driving down traffic filled Blanding Blvd and we stopped at a red light. The car doors were quickly opened and out jumped Fernando and Annie headed to the trunk. With new snacks in hand we completed the trip to Gatorville. As we completed the walk into the stadium I thought I had Steve S. with me. Everyone knew him and greeted him. It made us feel special. Finally after another victory we quickly headed to a "SECRET" very special place. Soon we had hugh, wonderful hamburgers and milkshakes. I think we gained 5 lbs on a simple trip to a sports event. YUM, YUM I won't even begin to describe my first visit to Ed's with him. Our love and thoughts will always be positive. During a lifetime we really only meet a few truly "special" people in our life. Fernando is one of those "SPECIAL" people.

Dear Anne & Family:

Our loss is heaven's gain. Fernando was to all of us, A living Saint on loan from God. To know him was to love him, but to be afforded the opportunity to work with him during his Crusade for Christ, was indeed a heavenly blessing. Our dear precious friend has departed this earth, but we take comfort in knowing that we have gained another Patron Saint in heaven.

Peace and Love,

Ann:

Fernando was one of my Cursillo grouping partners after I completed my Cursillo in about 1987. After that, we became Kairos volunteers with our brothers in blue.

I moved from the beach to town, married and started a family, falling out of touch with Fernando in the process. I may have fallen out of touch, but I never forgot.

A man with as much energy and love is always needed on earth. Its too bad his time couldn't have been longer.

Best wishes,

Anne and Family,

My family and I feel privileged to have gotten to spend some time with you and Fernando when you were here in New Mexico. Connor has always spoken with such love for her dad that it was great to meet him. The obvious love for God and for his family that he gifted us all with are still with us. And in the form of Connor's love and Magdalena's light, so is Fernando. We're heartbroken with you, and offer you our love and prayers.

I was so saddened to hear of Fernando's passing. I think you would be surprised to know how popular and well liked he was in the racquetball community. Dear Anne, Tony, and Family,

Count me among the thousands of lives that are better for knowing Fernando. As the Rector for my weekend, he made Christ come alive. He had such great passion, especially when he was with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. It took about 3 months before I realized that learning Spanish was not a requirement for heaven.

Dear Anne & Family

We feel blessed to have had an opportunity to meet such a beautiful couple full of love, and spirit during our retreat at engaged encounter. Fernando had such a wonderful spirit,we loved when he would turn the music on you would never know what tune would be next. My favorite moment was when he offered me a shot of cuban coffee,I thought.... wow!, this man has a passion for life. We also wittnessed an awesome display affection, and knew how much he loved Anne.

Anne, you and your family are in our thoughts, and prayers. Please continue let the music play as Fernando would want you to do.

Dear Ann & Family,

We knew from the first time we met Fernando that he loved the Word of God so much that he was called not just to profess it, but to live it. He was a wonderful example of a loving husband and a true Christian Brother.

We weep for you as Christ wept for Lazarus, and join our prayers to yours that Fernando is safely in our Lord's Kingdom. He was truely a servant of God.

May God comfort your heart.

Fernando was a great man. He was a giant among giants. His passion for God, spirituality, and people made him a true disciple and an apostle. He was a living witness of God's love and he lived the Gopsel. He was a brother of Jesus. He was a man of passion, temper, love, knowledge, cigars, gators, and joy. He was a waling Beatitude and a walking parable. He was a heroe. He will be missed! My prayers and love are with Ann and her family. Know that you are not alone.

Dear Ann, Tony, Gina and Conner,

Our prayers are with you. You know how much we loved you and Fernando. He was the best of radiance, a really genuine and exhuberant personality. You couldn't be sad around him. I will always remember when we saw him last at Al Pink's services. During 'the sign of peace' we had difficulty letting go of him. We were so glad to see each other. Fernando made everyone feel 'special'.

We can only thank God that we knew such a fantastic person during our lifetime.
