Geneva McCartney Obituary

MCCARTNEY Geneva Cecil Burnside, 88, of Brandon passed away April 28, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 yrs. Chaplain Harry McCartney, former Chaplain of the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, her parents, Walter Burnside and Mary Goss Burnside, brothers, Walter N. Burnside, Edgar Burnside, sisters, Alberta Davis & Lois Godwin. Survivors include her son, Gerry Michael McCartney and a sister, Vida Beasley. Mrs. McCartney was a native of Tampa and was a great mother and wife. She was a charter member of Seminole Heights Baptist Church and a member of the San Jose Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. The family will receive friends at the Garden of Memories Chapel, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, 6-8 Thursday evening. Graveside services will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday with Dr. Thomas M. Pinner, officiating .
