Jesse Bryan Obituary

BRYAN Funeral services for Jesse Wright Bryan, 74, will be held 2PM Thursday, June 3, 2010 in the chapel at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL with Rev. Carl Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery. Jesse was born in Miller County, in Colquitt, Georgia and has resided in Jacksonville for the past 65 years. He served his country proudly in the National Guard. Jesse was employed by the Milton J. Wood Company as a Superintendent and retired after 34 years of dedicated service. Jesse was a member of the Carpenters Local # 627, the Woodstock Park Masonic Lodge # 313 F. & A. M., the Morocco Shrine Temple and the Scottish Rite. Mr. Bryan is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Laura McKinlay Bryan; three daughters, Belinda King, Casey Hawley (Greg), and Christie Crews (Jason); son, Jimmy Tanner (Kelly); brother, Danny Bryan; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday (TODAY) from 5PM-7PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Memorial services for Jesse Wright Bryan will be held 11AM Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Colquitt, Georgia. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com

Jesse Bryan,
I recall once when my heart was just broke and I was coming in from Georgia and needed my mom, I went to your living room at the doublewide where the twin reclinners were and cried. You told my mom, I got this one Loyce, You came in there to me, sat down and when it looked like I was calming down, you said" Now Loree, I know this feels bad now but when you can think, I want you to step outside of your body and LOOK back... Ask yourself... Do I really want this heart break for my future?" Only you will know the answer. YOU WERE RIGHT!!!
I want to thank you for that, Guidance...you seem to do that to all of us that looked at the ranch as our other homes. There were a lot of us back then.
I pray for the family that they hold on to each other and find the support they will need. Belinda, you hang tough my friend, I'll be seeing you soon.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jessie at this time. Jessie was my husband's boss at Milton J. Wood back in the late 70's when we first met and then were married. Remember going to the Callahan Rodeo during the fair. Think that was the first time I met Jesse. I did not know that Jimmy Tanner was his stepson because I knew Jimmy from playing in the orchestra at Hillcrest Baptist. May the Lord give you the peace and comfort that only he can give at a sad time like this. His body is free of pain now but we can look forward to seeing him again in Heaven one day.

Laura and family,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Jesse. Even though we had not seen each other for awhile, George and I considered Jesse a good friend. George always enjoyed working with him and we enjoyed all of our good times together. George passed away in 2006, I know he will be glad to see Jesse again.

To the family,
My name is Ricky Bradford and Jesse was the nephew of my mother, Betty Bradford.
I have admired Jesse all my life and I always looked forward to seeing him and Laura. I truly enjoyed their company and really missed them when they were unable to attend the annual May Haw Festival this year.
Just as Jesse, I was also a commercial building superintendent. I am well aware of the capabilities one must possess to have done this job. I always looked up to Jesse and he was very deserving of it. He was a great guy to spend time with, always entertaining us and looking after my Mom. He was a friend to all of us and someone that I will dearly miss.

Jesse was a person who always stepped in to help me when I needed it. He was a person of his word. I have known him since 1959 and he was my journeyman carpenter. He will be missed but I look forward to seeing him in the presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
