As my sister stated in an earlier entry, those were some long nights. My father & I had to opportunity to run into Bro. Slade at the VAMC in Lake City about 6 months before my father died & the two had a good time talking about the good ole days of preaching & singing. We are keeping the family in our prayers.

Bro. Slade & my father, Rev. Woodrow W. Watts spent many a night (late) singing & praying. I guess now Mom, Dad & Bro. Slade are entertaining the angels. Our thoughts & prayers are with you & your family at this time.

Brother Slade married my husband and I back in 1979. Right there on Ridge Blvd in Jacksonville. It would be many years later that I would take the same road of ministry. My family has always loved the Slade family! (the Andersons)Oh how he played the piano, and the guitar! Sister Slade you have always been an inspiration and I know a true blessing to Bro. Slade. The both of you have encouraged many lives to serve the Lord. We were on our way to minister at a prison Sunday and was talking about Bro. Slade, remembering the old days and the great move of God. He will be missed but his legacy will endure for a long time! Love to all of you and our prayer are with you!!

Dear Polly and Family, I was so sorry to read about your loss. I was just a young teenage girl when I met your family at a church in Watertown. I loved to hear Bro. Jesse play the piano. It was if the piano could vibrate right off the platform. Years later (1989), I had the pleasure of taking care of him when I was a nursing student at the VAMC. I introduced myself by my maiden name and of course he remembered my parents. He was very sick but still the same kind man I remembered. Please know you are in my prayers at this time. Heaven look out! The choir may not be ready for this piano playing preacher. Love and prayers, Kim (Hermesman) Allison
