I just read his obituary and shocked does not describe how I feel right now. I met him when he was an ambassador for education when he contracted with the state of Florida. I loved his many stories about space and his wish to go up there someday. He brought several telescopes to my house in Tallahassee And my daughters were thrilled to see what he showed them. He was such an inspiration to everyone.

Dr. Mike was my dean, co-teacher, mentor and friend. There are certain people who walk through your life that make a lasting impression on you. Dr. Mike was one of those people. He wanted to walk in the footsteps of Neil Armstrong but walked in those of Jesus instead. He directed me in my professional life and I enjoy teaching with him. He will be missed by so many for he touched the lives of many always for the better. I will always "Keep Looking Up" as that space cadet would say. Pray for the repose of Dr. Mike.

Mike was my high school physics teacher and college astronomy professor. Any subject he taught--he made it much easier to learn, and he made learning fun. He was one of the good guys, and he will be sorely missed. And we will all miss his Carl Sagan impression of "billions and billions" !!! His memory will never be forgotten--he has touched and affected so many lives during his journey here on Earth--all for the better. I am so glad that our paths crossed a number of times-- I also know that as all our journey's end here, we go to a better place --and can meet once again !!!!

I learned so much from this man. I can only imagine how much he is enjoying seeing the stars up close and personal. Losing him so early is so horribly sad and he will be missed. But what an awesome legacy he left!

Our loss, Heaven's gain! We went to church with Mike years ago. Always had a deep appreciation for him, his faith and the knowledge he shared. He will always be remembered that way. Prayers for his wife Debbie and their family and loved one's.

I first met Mike at the NEAF 2010 astronomy show in Suffern, NY. It has been my pleasure to work with Mike over the years. I will miss him. RIP Mike.

Mike and I at the 2017 Almost Heaven Star Party (AHSP.org) where we both gave a talk. His talk on the 2017 August eclipse was a great talk.

Dr Reynolds was my zero hour astronomy teacher in 1984. I remember our trip to Epcot Center that year as well as the trip to NASA space center in 1985 to watch the Challener shuttle go up. I remember feeling thankful that he wasnt on that trip even though he had worked so hard to go. Selfish maybe on behalf of all the families of those on board but we still had Dr Reynolds. He is now an angel in heaven and seeing the stars from the other side. Thank you Dr Mike Reynolds for being the best teacher ever. You will be missed dearly. I hope you enjoy the view.

Over the years Mike was the go to person for logging meteor shower observations. In early 2016 when ALPO put word out for speakers at ALCON 2016 and having always wanted to speak of my Perseids Meteor Observations from Latham, NY for the past 30 years, Mike was the one who emailed me for an abstract and subsequent report and power point for speaking at ALCON 2016. It was an honor to be one of the ALPO speakers for this event and highlighted by meeting Mike and his wife, he even signed my book "Falling Stars", the last time I saw and spoke to Mike was at NEAF 2017 were he did a lecture about the upcoming 2017 Solar Eclipse. I will miss him greatly but with a memory that will live and be cherished forever.
My condolence to his wife, family and friends.

We live forever among the stars.

It is difficult and sad to lose the friend who always encouraged me and encouraged me to continue the educational work in astronomy in Cochabamba Bolivia. I add to the sadness of Debbie's family, especially. However, it is perhaps good to think on the other side, on the side of Mike who now as never before is experiencing the happiness that we cannot experience here. We are sure that he is experiencing another facet of this Universe that he enjoyed and studied so much.
Every time we see the starry sky, we will remember our friend Mike with respect and joy!

Our heartfelt sorrow goes out to our friend Debbie and Mike's family on this sad day and terrible loss. Ww have known Mike since around 1980; first while attending an ALPO meeting and have remained fiends with him since then. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him in our mutual love for astronomy, science and with our many mutual friends; he was a decent person besides. Mike Reynolds will remain in our hearts as a close friend for the rest of our days.

Mike was a dear friend and long time astronomical colleague. He was an inspiration to all of us who love lunar and planetary astronomy. I will miss him and his contagious enthusiasm for watching solar eclipses worldwide. Rest In peace my beloved friend.

Mike had great public speaking skills and was always able to connect with amateur astronomers or just plain folk, whether on stage or in casual conversation. Mike was a well accomplished person in his profession of education and the sciences as well as his avocation of amateur astronomy, but still had the human quality to relate with others. He will be missed.

My heartfelt sorrow goes out to Mike's family on this terrible loss. I'd known Mike only since the mid-1990s as a fellow member of an astronomy organization, but I always found him to be genuinely decent. In more recent years, with Debbie and Mike relocating back to Florida (and me in Atlanta), I had a chance to see him annually at our conferences and do periodic phone calls where he told me he really enjoyed our conversations and valued me as a true friend. You just don't find people like Mike Reynolds very much anymore.

My heartfelt condolences to Debbie and all of Mike' family. I've known Mike through NEFAS since he returned to Jacksonville from Chabot Obsevatory in California.
