Norman Bash Obituary

BASH Norman Felix Bash, age 54, passed away Monday, February 28, 2005 at Hadlow Hospice Center in Jacksonville. He was born 4-30-1950 in San Antonio, Texas to Joseph and Blanche Barthel Bash. Norman was an inspiration of courage and wit as he battled a two-year bout with cancer. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend who dedicated his life to his family and church. He never lost his optimism and zeal for life and continued to be an active parent in raising his teenage son. Norman never gave up his devotion to his church and continued to grow in his faith until the end. To Norman's credit he held two degrees, one in Wild Life Management and one in Computer Science. He was a computer analyst during the day, but at night he was known to participate in Taido, a Martial Arts discipline, for which he held a first-degree black belt. He loved to travel with his family. Norman served his country as an Army Ranger during the Viet Nam Era. He was a member of San Juan Del Rio Parish wher e he participated in CHRP (Christ Renews his Parish). Norman is survived by his devoted wife of 19 years, Denise, son Eric and daughter Lindsey, mother, Blanche, brothers, Bob, Jack and Lou, and sisters, Janet and Terry. In addition, he leaves additional family members, friends and church family for whom he loved very much. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, March 4, 2005 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd. with the Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church with Father Ed Booth as the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida. Please visit Norman's Everlasting Memorial at www.mem.com where memories and tributes may be shared. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the tender care provided by the staffs at Baptist Hospital and Hadlow Hospice Center, Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home and members of San Juan Del Rio Parish. What else can one say about Norman that hasn't already been said. He was a very kind, gentle, loving person, an inspiration to all who worked with him, a fighter who wanted to live to see his son grown, a husband whose eyes would sparkle when he talked about his wife, a person dedicated to his job; who came in even when he was in pain or sick. So what else can we possibly say except that we love you Norman, and your physical presence will be missed even though you'll be in our hearts forever.
