Peter Huntley-Robertson Obituary

HUNTLEY- ROBERTSON Peter Huntley- Robertson, 77, Loving Husband, father and brother passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2010 after a courageous struggle with illness in the company of his wife and son. Peter was born October 11, 1932, in Hampstead, London, England and lived in Argentina before returning to England to be educated at the Bedford School. After his graduation, Peter lived in Peru and Ecuador before moving to Rhode Island where he lived from 1966 until 1994. Peter's business interests led to travels throughout South and Central America, Europe, the Middle East, India and Pakistan, first as a Sales Director for Leesona Corporation before starting Consolidated International Corporation with his business partner of 21 years, Thomas W. Prunk. Following his retirement, Peter and his wife Martha moved to, Ponte Vedra, where they enjoyed golf, gardening, and traveling, both with their new Marsh Landing friends, and to visit their ever growing brood of grandchildren. Peter was an athlete who in addition to golf, was an avid rugby and tennis player and skier (albeit less successful, breaking his leg on his first attempt). Besides Martha, his loving wife of 31 years, Peter is survived by his sons Stephen of Tampa FL, Andrew of Summit NJ, his step-children Susan, Richard, Margot, Robert and Roger; and 17 grandchildren. Other survivors include his sister Cherry, brother Michael and numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his twin brother Robin. A Memorial Service will be held at Palms Presbyterian Church, Jacksonville Beach on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, McGraw Center, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257, or to Mayo Clinic for Amyloidosis Research, Development Office, 4500 San Pablo Rd. I would always looked forward to my trips to Ponte Vedra because of Peter. One of the things I could always count on was Peter taking me to play golf. He would go out of his way to ensure that I was taken care of and enjoyed my stay. What a great man! My prayers are with Martha and family.
