Robert "Bob" August Sr.

1939 - 2014

AUGUST Robert Bob. August Sr. age 75, passed away at The Parrish Medical Center in Titusville on December 29, 2014. He was a member of the Seafarers International Union for 38 years. He graduated from the Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of seamanship at Piney Point, Maryland as a Master of Ocean Steam and motor Vessels. He worked for Crowley Maritime for 28 years as a Training Master and was the Senior Captain when he retired. He loved being at sea and loved his job. After retirement he and his wife, Nancy enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their R.V. He never missed a Florida-Georgia football game and loved tail gaiting at the R.V City, and for an old guy he loved riding his three wheeled Harley. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Nancy, two sons, John August of Jacksonville, FL and Robert August Jr. of Savannah, GA and his daughter Dreama August of Jacksonville, FL. two step-daughters Debra Turner and Patricia Herbert. Also he leaves 11 Grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his beloved niece donna August and grand-niece Maria Tilitson and family. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
