Stephen Wolfe Obituary

WOLFE Stephen E Wolfe, 67, left this world to be with Jesus much sooner than we expected on April 15, 2017, and is now - as he always said - better than I deserve. Steve was many things - more than words can ever describe in a short paragraph. He never took life too seriously and always had some joke or goofy comment to add to every conversation. He helped us laugh when we thought we couldn't, and he always came through when we needed him most. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but especially by his wife of almost 37 years, Karen, and his two daughters Mary (David) and Rachel (Justin), as well as his six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Steve Jr. He was a jack of all trades, but his favorite things were spending time with his family at home, leading the worship band at Jax Chapel, cycling, and enjoying a cup of coffee at all hours of the day. Steve lives on in the goofy jokes, the ever-repeated catch phrases, the laughter and joy, the music he loved so much, and the heart he had for his family. A viewing will be held Thursday, April 20th from 6 to 7:30 PM at Fraser Funeral Home, 8168 Normandy Blvd. The memorial service will be Friday, April 21st at 11:00 AM at Grace Church of Avondale, 3519 Herschel Street. Flowers are welcome, or donations can be made in Steve's honor to the St. Jude Foundation, which held a special place in his heart.

I am sorry for your loss. I had sent Steve a couple of emails and wondered why he never answered. August 24th was Avondale High School 50th reunion. When I looked in the book and saw that he had died I realized that was why I had not heard from him. I am very sorry for your loss. Avondale class of 1968,

Avondale Estates , Georgia.

Deepest sympathy to the family of a truly wonderful man. I knew him in high school, when he wore his hair like JFK. He will be greatly missed. So long, old friend. See you in Heaven

My deepest sympathy to the family. We don't know God's timing, but I'm sure he has a special assignment for him in Heaven.

Karen, there are no words that can take away the emptyness you feel inside. But you of all people that I know, knows that God always has the plan for us all. My heart goes out to you & your family. You will always have a place in my prayers for comfort and guidance in your time of need, God Bless You All.

Steve was a great man and uncle who everyone enjoyed being around. Always looked forward to holidays and special occasions to see him. Helped me out on multiple occasions and I am grateful for that. Will miss him.

I pray for your heartache to ease with the assurance that he is overwhelmed with joy at this very moment at the sight of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Love you all!

Always will remember every time Steve called me and needed my help with notarizing something, it was always, "It's your no good brother-in-law." You can't have someone in your life for over 37 years without feeling such a hole in your heart when they're no longer there. And when I had my wreck, it was Steve who came to the rescue and got Gary for me and stayed and took pictures of my car. He was there when you needed him. And even though we didn't see each other a lot, he was family and I will miss him. I will always be grateful that every time he answered the phone when I called Karen, that I always had a conversation with him before I asked to speak to her. We love you, Steve. we'll take care of Karen until we all see each other again
