As a former student over thirty years ago, Mr. Monk will always be remembered as one of my favorite teachers! His sense of humor, his kindness, his giant heart - the list goes on. Mr. Monk was one of my all time favorite teachers! He helped to start my love history and showed me that a teacher could have a sense of humor....something I have used as a teacher myself for the last 25 years. It was a privilege to have had him as a teacher and to have known him. I am so sorry for your loss.

Condolences to his family. He was one of my all time favorite teachers. He had a fantastic sense of humor, which he frequently used to teach his classes. I distinctly remember him doing year end awards - one of my friends got the heaviest bookbag award - a toy jeep and trailer mounted on a board. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Monk was one of the greatest influences in my life. His passion for teaching history and government were contagious. He loved his students. I double majored in history and political science as an undergrad because of the love of those subjects instilled in me in his classroom.
