M. PAUTZ Obituary

M. Marie Pautz, 83, of Westfield, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Wheaton's Personal Care Home in Westfield. Marie was born on June 11, 1940, in Troy, a daughter of Richard and Tessie Guinan. She married James Pautz on June 13, 1959, in Bentley Creek at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
Marie was happiest in her garden growing beautiful flowers and vegetables to sell on the vegetable stand each summer as well as supplying floral arrangements to decorate the altar for the holidays. She especially enjoyed decorating the altar for Christmas at St. Catherines Church in Westfield, where she had been a member since moving to the area in 1973. Marie also drove school buses for various contractors for over 30 years. She made quilts with her friends to raise money for organizations and loved to crochet, knit, cross stitch, paint, and do puzzles. Marie loved to travel and went on many adventures with the family in the Winnebago and trips to Nova Scotia, Alaska, Nashville, and South Carolina.
Marie is survived by her husband; children, Ellen (Tom) Pryzbylkowski of Conastoga, Pa., Carol (Kevin) Gemmell of Knoxville, Douglas (Nancy) Pautz of Knoxville, and Leigh Ann (Dave) Naghaski of Marian, N.Y.; grandchildren, Erin, Derek, Emily, James, Olivia, Ryan, and Madison who gave her much pride and joy as well as great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Tommy (Margaret) Guinan of Columbia Cross Roads; sisters, Alice Davis of Burlington, Genevieve (George) Haas of Stone Ridge, N.Y., Sally (Bill) Eick of Columbia Cross Roads, and Karen (John) Smith of Athens; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and RuthAnn Pautz, Paul and Eileen Pautz, Anna Pautz, Nancy Pautz, and Glenn Toczko; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Donnie; her parents; three brothers, Michael, Patrick, and Jimmy; a brother-in-law, Harold Pautz; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Toczko.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, 146 Lincoln St., Westfield, with the Reverend Jacek Bialkowski as celebrant. Burial will take place in Ackley's Cemetery in Sabinsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
