WELDON BUTLER Obituary

Weldon Thomas Butler, known to most as "Wally," 61 of Baldwin Run Road, Wellsboro, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, as a result of a motorcycle accident near Lusk, Wyo., after attending the Sturgis motorcycle rally, an event he looked forward to every year.
Born Oct. 1, 1949, in Blossburg, the son of the late Weldon E. and Pauline Lee Butler.
He attended Wellsboro schools and served overseas in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Weldon was employed at Osram, Wellsboro. He was a member of the ABATE motorcycle club and an avid motorcyclist. An enthusiastic outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and mentoring his grandson in those endeavors.
Surviving are, his daughter Erica Butler of Wellsboro; his grandson Brayden Brill of Wellsboro; three brothers, Melvin Butler of Wellsboro, Jordan (Billie Jo) Butler of Bath, N.Y., Dennis Butler of Wellsboro; one sister, Gloria (Ralph) Repard of Owego, N.Y.
Friends and family are invited to Weldon's Life Celebration on Wednesday, Aug. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, a "Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral will follow at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a trust established for his grandson - Erica Butler in trust for Brayden Brill at First Heritage Credit Union, 17 East Ave., Wellsboro, Pa. 16901. My sincerest sympathy to Weldon's family.
I met Weldon and Gloria in Wellsboro a few years ago while on a Genealogy trip to Tioga Co. We have a common Great Grandfather in Lester Hancock Butler.

83 or 84 Weldon on his Shadow.

I loved Weldon very much and we had many good times together over the decades I've known him. My daughter and his used to play together as children too. My heart goes out to Erica and Brayden. He will never be forgotten, but he will always be missed. May God ease the suffering of his family over time. Someday we will see him again.

I will all ways remember all the trouble he got into at marsh creek school. He was a lot of fun. I enjoyed those years. We will send prayers for his family.
