A. Skotek Obituary

Mrs. A. EmmaTyler Skotek Mrs. A. Emma Tyler Skotek, 88, formerly of Lincoln Street, McAdoo, died early Wednesday, July 29, in the Fritzingertown Senior Living Community, where she had been residing since January.Born in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late John G. and Mary Mae (Growcott) Bernhard. She spent her early years in Shenandoah and most of her life in Still Creek and McAdoo.A 1938 graduate of J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah, Emma spent 18 years working as office manager for the Royal Anthracite Coal Co. of Hazleton, and was last employed by Carlen Manufacturing in McAdoo.She was a member of the Weatherly Congregation of Jehovah's Witness, which meets at Kingdom Hall on the Arthur Gardner Parkway in Hazleton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert C. Tyler; her second husband, Joseph J. Skotek; three brothers George, John and Richard Bernhard; and two sisters, Betty Mader and Anna Goodridge.Surviving are two sons, Michael B. Tyler, and his wife, Susan, of Lake Hauto, and Jeffry W. Tyler, and his wife, Cornelia, of Lebanon; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Service: Private service at convenience of family. No viewing. Arrangements by Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home, through its Hazle Chapel.
