Adam Oberman Obituary
Adam J. "Pete" Oberman, 82, of Moore Township, died Friday, July 10, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Beverly J. (Krell) Oberman. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in September. He was a layout operator for the former Western Electric, Allentown, for 45 years before retiring.Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Adam L. and Martha (Stewart) Oberman.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua, and the Petersville Rod and Gun Club.
Oberman avidly enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved the Phillies, Eagles and Notre Dame.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two sons, David, and his wife Jennifer, and Glenn, and his wife, Melissa; a daughter Deborah, wife of John Gemmel; eight grandchildren, Derek, Tara and Ryan Gemmel, April and Jenna Oberman, Natalie and Weston Oberman and Chase Rawson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Barrett and Barbara Starry; and two brothers, Alvin and Richard.
Service: Funeral service was held this morning from the Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua. Contributions in his name may be made to the Dream Come True Annual Event, c/o the Petersville Rod and Gun Club, 500 Club Ave., Bath, PA 18014. Dear Beverly and Family,
I just read online about Adam's passing and I was very shocked to hear about it. I didn't know he was ill. He was a fellow classmate of mine from the Tamaqua High School Class of 1951, and I always enjoyed seeing you at our annual Class Reunion picnics. I will miss you both.
