Charles Strohl Obituary

Charles J. Strohl

Charles J. "Chip" Strohl, 82, of South St., Jim Thorpe, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at St. Luke's Miners Hospital, Coaldale.

He was the husband of Joan (Schweibinz) Strohl. They had celebrated 61 years of marriage in December.

Born in Mauch Chunk, he was a son of the late Bert and Florence (Fahringer) Strohl.

He was a 1958 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in the Heights, Jim Thorpe.

He retired in 2006 after working 36 years at Blue Ridge Pressure Castings in Lehighton.

Chip was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He belonged to the Sportsmans Rod & Gun Club in Andreas.

He is survived by sons, Charles Strohl, and wife Cathy, of Nesquehoning; Thomas Strohl, and wife Susan, of Conover, NC; daughter, Annette, wife of John Jones of Summit Hill; grandchildren, Amanda, wife of Michael Schaeffer; Jason Strohl, and wife Andrea; Richard Abel and Daniel Abel, great-grandchildren, Austin, Addison, Riley, Harper and Layla; brother, Thomas Strohl, and wife Mary; sisters, Miriam Borosh and Faye Kohler.

He was predeceased by siblings, LeRoy, Robert, Florence and Jean; and grandson, Ryan.

Service: A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown, with the Rev. F. Peter Muhr officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be sent to his church, St. John's Lutheran Church, 319 South Ave, Jim Thorpe, 18229.

The Melber Funeral Home, Jim Thorpe, is in charge of arrangements.
