Mrs. Doris M. (Swartz) Swolensky

Mrs. Doris M. (Swartz) Swolensky, 92, of Craig Street, Palmerton, died on Saturday evening, July 12, 2025, in her home. She was the widow of Peter Swolensky, who passed away in 2006.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Esther (Snyder) Swartz.

Doris was employed for many years as a seamstress for the former Bowmanstown and Weissport Garment mills, and was a longtime member of the I.L.G.W.U.

She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bowmanstown, where she was an active volunteer assisting in many activities.

Doris was also a member of and waitress for the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club for many years.

She enjoyed shopping, especially at Boscov's and the Hometown Farmers Market.

Surviving are a son, Thomas K. Sr. of Palmerton; grandchildren, Jessica M. Collins of Parryville, Jennifer L. Swolensky of Inverness, FL, and Thomas K. Jr., of Palmerton; three great-grandchildren, Chloe Schnell, Abygail Collins and Benjamin Mousa; a brother, Blaine Swartz, and his companion, Jean, of Canadensis, Monroe County; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by brothers, Forrest, Glenn, Laird and Delano.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, Emmanuel U.C.C., 519 Hamilton St., Bowmanstown. Interment, Towamensing Cemetery, Third St. and Fireline Road, Palmerton.
