Earl Kates Obituary
His hobbies were antique cars, auctions and flea markets.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Donna, wife of Joseph Corrocher, and Amanda Sherman, and her fiancé, Doug Romig Sr.; two sons, Scott, and his wife, Teruko, and Steve, and his wife, Terri; three brothers, Allen, and his wife, Millie, Larry, and his wife, Betty, and Clarance, and his wife, Liz; three sisters, Pat, wife of Jerry VanLuvanee, Viola Bachert and Ann Guth; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by three brothers, Raymond, Bill and Richard.
Service: Funeral service noon Saturday, Oct. 6, Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe. Call 10:30 a.m.-noon.

Dear Aunt Lynn, Donna, Scott, Steve, Amanda...I am so sorry for the loss of your husband..your father..What can i say about uncle Sunny! It was always great to have him around! He would make you laugh and make you cry..but they were happy tears..he would make you laugh so much your side would hurt! He would do anything for you and expect nothing in return. I have so many great memories of visiting your family as a child and playing with my cousins in your house. When my dad and your dad got together for any reason..a picnic or just a family gathering you never knew what would happen. They always did crazy stuff and the wives had to calm them down a little..but all of this is what made him so special! I LOVE YOU UNCLE SONNY !!and will miss you so much! Rest in Peace!
