Mrs. Ethel Daderko

Mrs. Ethel Daderko, 102, of Summit Hill, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Michael Daderko.

Born in St. Clair, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Vasil and Paraskevia (Panchar) Draovitch.

Ethel worked at the former Loomtogs Garment Factory in Summit Hill as a seamstress and was a devoted homemaker for her family.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Lansford, having been a longtime choir member. Ethel was also very active in the Ladies Guild of the church as well as in the church's paska bread baking group and pierogi baking group.

Surviving are her daughters, Michele McKenzie, and her husband, Gregory, of Harleysville, and Melanie Gilbert, and her husband, Richard, of Summit Hill; grandchildren, Tamara Hartman, and her husband, Brad, of Maryland, Christopher McKenzie, and his wife, Emma, of Philadelphia, and Michael Gilbert, and his wife, Eileen, of Woodstock, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Charlotte, Graham, Mason, Knox and Colbie; and several nieces and nephews.

Ethel was the last surviving member of her siblings of 11.

Services: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 125 W. Bertsch St., Lansford, with the Rev. Joseph Fester officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, Hometown. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Contributions in Ethel's memory may be made to the church. Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill. Online condolences may be shared at www.parambofh.com.
