Eugene W. Moser

Eugene W. ""Gene" Moser, 74, of Behrens Rd., Jim Thorpe, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at the Blue Mountain Health Systems Gnaden Huetten Campus, Lehighton. He was the husband of Dorothea B. (Behrens) Moser. They were married on June 30, 1967.
Born in East Mauch Chunk, he was a son of the late Eugene J. and Elizabeth (Mullen) Moser.
He had retired from working as a Building Inspector for Penn Forest Twp. He had also worked in the area as a carpenter.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Penn Forest. He was a member and formerly a volunteer firefighter for Penn Forest Fire Co. No. 1.
Besides his wife he is survived by daughters, Marianne Marykwas of Jim Thorpe and Suzanne, wife of Francis Keating of Leesport, Berks County; a brother, Donald, and his wife Anna; sisters, Anna Mae Kasten and Emily, wife of Gordon Holland, all of Jim Thorpe; three grandchildren, Justin and Jared Marykwas and Trey Keating.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, John, Robert and Frank; and a sister, Annette Getz.
Service: at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Christ Lutheran Church, 189 Church Rd., Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. John P. Hassler officiating. Interment, church cemetery. Call Friday, 7-9 p.m. at the Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, and 10:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorials in his name may be made to the church.
