Gregory Freeby Obituary

Gregory D. Freeby

Gregory D. Freeby, 70, of Lehighton, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. He was the husband of the late Cynthia L. (Everett) Freeby.

He was employed by the Blue Ridge Pressure Casting Company, Lehighton. Prior to that, he worked as a mason for a monument company in Summit Hill.

Born on July 3, 1955, in Lehighton, he was the son of the late Maynard and Marie (Fink) Freeby.

He was a 1974 graduate of Lehighton Area High School and was a former member of East Penn Sporting Club. Gregory was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, hiking, grilling and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters, Sara M. Freeby and Tiffany M. Freeby, both of Lehighton, Julie, wife of Christopher Brady of Gouldsboro, and Erica Everett, wife of Joseph Wilt of Weatherly; grandchildren, Adrian, Keegan, Noah, Anna and Samuel; and sisters, Kim, wife of Frank Kollar of Bowmanstown, and Diane, wife of Jerry Duncan in Texas.

He was also predeceased by brother, Darryl Freeby; and sisters, Betty Ruhl, Sus Ziegenfus, Kay Ann Wentz and Donna Smith.

Service: Memorial service 3 p.m. Thursday, April 2, Miller Funeral Home, 137 Fairview St., Lehighton. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lehigh River Stocking Assoc., P.O. Box 203, Danville, PA 18038.
