Howard Yeakley Obituary

Howard P. Yeakley Jr.

Howard P. "Howie" Yeakley Jr., 72, of Summit Hill, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, in his residence.

He was a longtime bus driver for the Panther Valley School District, having worked for 28 years.

Born in Kempton, he was a son of the late Howard P. Yeakley Sr. and Jean Alma (Roth) Yeakley.

He was a graduate of Tamaqua High School.

He was of the Lutheran and Protestant faith.

Surviving are his daughters, Melissa Yeakley, with whom he resided, and Heather Hefflefinger, and her wife, Jen, of Tamaqua; a granddaughter, Fran Loy of Lehighton; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Vega, Joshua Vega and Connor Loy; a sister, Ardenna Yeakley of Weatherly; a brother, Kevin Yeakley in Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Yeakley.

Service: Memorial service 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill, with the Rev. Ruth Ann Christopher officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the family to be used for the Michael Yeakley Memorial Fund. He loved his job,all the children and he was a great friend to everyone he met.
I'm so terribly going to miss seeing you everyday at the office and passing you every morning on our runs as you always smiled and waved as you went by.

Howard was the most kind,considerate, caring and loving person I have ever known. Now he is with those who really love him. I know his heart ached every day since the passing of his son Michael.
