James Perkins Obituary
James F. Perkins, 73, of Kunkletown, died on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025. He was the loving husband of Lucy (Smith) Perkins. They recently celebrated their 31st anniversary.
He was a son of the late Harry and Filomena (Rotondo) Perkins.
James worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the number 2 machine shop for 46 years and eventually retired from Lehigh Heavy Forge Co.
He was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed his time serving as a transportation roady and soundman for several local bands. James enjoyed music, sports, puzzles, home gardening and some good humor jokes.
Surviving in addition to his widow are daughters, Jaime, wife of David Catherine of Coopersburg, Erin, wife of Nate Scheetz of Huntingdon, Lindsay Perkins of Summerfield, FL, Melissa Perkins of Ocala, FL, and Breanna Perkins of Kunkletown; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Thomas and Marilyn Perkins of Bethlehem; and a sister Maryann, wife of George Warning of Salisbury.
He was also predeceased by sister, Patsy Rahm.
Service: Memorial service 2 p.m. Thursday, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Private interment. Call 1-2 p.m. Thursday. Contributions in his name may be made to the Carbon Co. Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240. Online condolences can be offered at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com.
