Mrs. Joan E. Strohl

Mrs. Joan E. (Schweibinz) Strohl, 80, of Jim Thorpe, passed away on May 13, 2023, in the St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. She was the widow of Charles "Chip" Strohl. They celebrated 61 years of marriage in December.

She had been a seamstress at the former Jim Thorpe Sportswear.

Born in Lehighton, she was a daughter of the late Aloysius and Anna (Seip) Schweibinz.

She was a graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and bird, Bubba.

Surviving are two sons, Charles Strohl, and his wife, Cathy, of Nesquehoning, and Thomas Strohl. And his wife, Susan. of Conover, N.C.; daughter Annette, wife of John Jones of Summit Hill; four grandchildren, Amanda, wife of Michael Schaeffer, Jason Strohl, and his wife, Andrea, Richard Abel and Daniel Abel; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Addison, Riley, Harper and Layla; three brothers, Bobby, and his wife Cathy, Billy, and his wife, Annette, and Paul; and four sisters, Anna, and her husband, Ray, Janie, Betty and Dottie.

She was also preceded in death by brother James; and grandson Ryan.

Graveside service 11:45 a.m. Saturday, May 20, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown, Tamaqua, with the Rev. Ronald Minner officiating. Arrangements by Melber Funeral Home, Jim Thorpe.
