John Eckhart Obituary
John D. Eckhart, 56, of Summit Hill, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital-Anderson Campus. He was the husband of Joanne (Strepko) Eckhart. They were married for 31 years this past June.
Born in Lehigh-
ton, he was the son of the Judy Eckhart of Lehighton and the late John Eckhart.
He was a graduate of Lehighton High School.
John was self-employed having owned J&J HVAC & Refrigeration. He was of the Protestant faith. John enjoyed spending time working on his cars.
Surviving, along with his wife and mother; are a daughter, Kim Barry, and her husband James, of Freeland; a sister, Janine Eckhart of Lehighton; grandchildren, Jessica Barry-Oliver and Jackie Barry; great-grandchild, Molly Barry; his beloved pet dog, Sammy.
Services: will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions, in John's memory, may be made to the Carbon County Animal Shelter, 63 Broad St., Nesquehoning, PA 18240. Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill. Online Condolences may be shared at www.parambofh.com.

I was shocked when I heard the news. We were good friends in junior high and high school, went to Friday night high school football games, drove around and worked at Laneco.

Dear Eckhart Family,
John and I became friends in high school. He always had a good sense of humor. When he drove his parents convertible to high school on a cold winter morning, we drove around town with the top down! Why because we thought it was funny! John installed our a/c system and my wife witnessed his sense of humor like I have known. Even though we hadn't seen each other for years we were clowning around and having fun like the old days. He had this joyfulness to him that this world will miss. With our deepest sympathy.
