Joanne, young Joe and Tom -

My husband and I knew your husband and dad mostly through email. We both want you all to know we also had formed a great respect for Joe. We are newer Ham radio enthusiasts as well as scout people and know your boys have been given wonderful guidance and love from a unique father and you a special husband.

My husband, Ron, and our son are both Eagle Scouts and still active in scouting. Feel free to reach out if any of us can help you or your boys particularly with any scouting issues or merit badge concerns.

Joe will truly be missed by all who knew him. Love, Prayers and Big Hugs, Karen and Ronald Bellamy

Joanne, I am sorry to learn of Joe’s death at such an early age. We met when he was my advisee in the Division of Undergraduate studies at University Park before choosing a major in the College of Liberal Arts. He was one of the unforgettable students I had the joy of working with. We used to talk about the alternative to THE DAILY COLLEGIAN and so many other things of interest to him. In fact, I knew him before you did, AND I knew you before he did. I know your parents will be a strong source of comfort and support for you and the boys.

There is not much one can say a time like this, but I want you to know that I care.

Be well; be strong,
Bernie Bronstein

Joe was one of the first friends I made at Penn State Schuylkill Haven Campus (1982) and we remained friends since. He was my sponsor at Sigma Nu Fraternity. We worked on cars together, skipped class to scour u-pull-it yards for car parts, and talked...... a lot. He was one of the most intelligent and dedicated persons I've known. I'll miss him.
