Joseph J. Arieta
Joseph J. Arieta, 55, of 124 W. Ridge St., Lansford, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 8, in his residence.
He worked for Ametek, Nesquehoning, in its shipping department.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Marenchik) Arieta.
A 1975 graduate of Panther Valley High School, he served in the Air Force from 1977-1981 and was currently serving in the U.S. National Guard.
Arieta was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford.
He enjoyed the art of Shorin Ryu Style Karate and was a 4th Degree Black Belt.
Surviving are a brother Michael of Lansford; a sister Jean, wife of James Secara of Lehighton; a niece, Melissa Secara; and a nephew, Jimmy Secara.
Service: Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 14, Skrabak-Parambo Funeral Home, 210 E. Bertsch St., Lansford; Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m., St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford. Interment, St. Michael Cemetery, Summit Hill. Call 9-10:30 a.m. Monday. Online condolences can be offered at www.parambofh.com.

This is just such a heartbreak. He was a great buddy since grade school. What a wonderful, big hearted man. He will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to your family. Rest in peace Joe.
