Joyce Gower Obituary
Joyce J. (German) Gower, 77, of Weatherwood, formerly of Palmerton, died Thursday evening, Oct. 1 at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Gnaden Huetten Memorial Campus, Lehighton.
She was the wife of the late James C. Gower who passed away in 1993. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Jesse J. and Ida (Heffentrayer) German.
Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Bowmanstown, the Danielsville Democratic Club, the Bowmanstown Rod and Gun Club, and the former Blue Mountain CB Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan J., wife of Frank Tartar, of Lehighton; granddaughter, Mandee Messinger of Palmerton; great-grandson on the way; and sister, Helen Strohl of Catasauqua.
Services: Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Towamensing Cemetery, Third Street and Fireline Road, Palmerton with the Rev. Dennis R. Schappell officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Campton Funeral Home, Palmerton. Online condolences can be made at www.schislerfuneralhomes.com. Contributions may be made to the Hazleton Blind Association Inc., 109 W. Broad St., Hazleton, PA 18201.
