Kenneth Lee Shiffer

Kenneth Lee Shiffer, 76, of Kunkletown, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Wehr) Shiffer. They were married for 47 years on May 26 of this year.

Prior to retiring, he was employed at Ingersoll Rand as a millwright.

Born in Bethlehem on Oct. 17, 1948, he was a son of the late Harry and Ruth (Unangst) Shiffer.

He served our country with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, having attained the rank of SP4 with the B Battery 5th Missile Battalion while stationed in Germany.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and previously held a membership at the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a brother, Harry Shiffer (Brenda) of Hamburg; and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Carol and Daniel.

Service: Private funeral service at convenience of family. Arrangements by Ovsak Funeral Home, Lehighton. Contributions in his name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023, American Kidney Fund,11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville MD 20852, or the American Heart Assoc., 4250 Crums Mill Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17112. Ken, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. We all are grateful for your stepping up to the plate when your country needed you the most. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to begin, ending a successful career as a nation“s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
