Linda Barnhart Obituary
Linda J. Barnhart of Jim Thorpe passed away peacefully on Oct. 2, 2025, in the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia.
Born to the late Howard and Verna Barnhart, Linda was also predeceased by her brother, William Barnhart.
Linda dedicated her career to education as a beloved elementary school teacher in the Panther Valley School District. Known for her kindness, patience and devotion to her students, she touched many young lives during her years in the classroom.
Beyond her work, Linda was an avid animal lover who found great joy in the companionship of her beloved dog, Tess.
She will be deeply missed by her cousins, Jim and Sarah Miller and Diane and Michael Smith; and by her cherished circle of lifelong friends, Nancy, Audrey, Libby, Leslie and Theresa, whose love and support enriched her life immeasurably. Linda is also survived by other cousins and family.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Fox Chase Cancer Center for the exceptional care and comfort they provided to Linda.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. William Thompson officiating. Interment, private. Viewing 9:30-11 am. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741, or to a charity of choice.
