Louise Shellhamer Obituary

Mrs. Louise A. Shellhamer, 92, of Pitt Street, Tamaqua, died Wednesday, July 20, in her home. She was the widow of Russell Shellhamer, who died in 1972.
Prior to retiring in 1985, she was a secretary for the Schuylkill County Emergency Management Office. Previously, she worked for the former Sears and Roebuck Catalog Store, Tamaqua.
Born in Tamaqua, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Anna (Gribbin) Allison.
She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua.
A 1937 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she was also a graduate of the McCann School of Business.
Surviving are a daughter, Louise M. of Tamaqua; a son, Russell H. "Doey" of Summit Hill; three grandchildren, James, Nadine and Julie, all of Tamaqua; a sister, Helen Schuetrumpf of Tamaqua; nine great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Kellet, who died in 1997; a granddaughter, Amy Mooney; eight brothers and two sisters.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday, July 25, SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua, with the Rev. William Linkchorst officiating. Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Tamaqua. Call 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:30 a.m. Monday, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Sign online registry at www.zrgfuneralhomes.com.
