Dear family, friends and loved one's of Mike.
I very sadly just learned of Mike's passing today while riding the chairlift at Blue with a member of the Blue Mountain Race team staff.
I am so sorry for your loss.
I have known Mike for very long time through our shared love of skiing and ski racing at Blue and our "ski family" in general. We actually used to be on the same 'recreational' (beer league) ski team that competed at Blue a long time ago.
One memory that we often talked about at least once each season was helping to push cars that got stuck trying to leave 'Little Gap' many many years ago during a huge snow storm. We must have pushed at least a dozen cars back onto the road that night (before almost everyone owned a 4wd vehicle).
Mike was truly a wonderful and genuinely nice person and I will miss him greatly.
Please accept my sincere condolences.

Our Love and prayers go out to Mikes entire families. His unexpected passing was a shock for everyone. He will truly be missed by so many people he touched past and present. We will hold onto our memories of "Schmigzy" and the good old days. As his present family and friends can cherish the memories of the man he became. RIP Mike
