Riley Zelienka Obituary
Riley M. Zelienka, 24, of Palmerton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 11, in Philadelphia.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Kevin and Paula (Sikorsky) Zelienka.
A 2016 graduate of Palmerton Area High School, she attended classes at Temple University's Tyler School of Art and worked as an independent visual artist. She previously worked as a YMCA swim instructor in Philadelphia, a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Palmerton pool, and a snowboard and recreation instructor at Blue Mountain Ski Area.
Riley was original, imperfect, and always grateful for her education, artistic ability, relationships, determination and, most of all, family.
She cherished the things in life that were important to her: spending time with her son Jesse and with friends she could always count on, practicing yoga, keeping a list of goals and other things she had decided to accomplish.
For the short time she was here, Riley wrote her own story. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors: Parents; son, Jesse; sisters, Lenaick and Madeline Zelienka.
She was predeceased by grandparents, Irene and Michael Sikorsky, Agnes and Joseph Zelienka.
Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Stoney Ridge PARC, 1540-1770 Fireline Rd., Palmerton. Call 2-3 p.m. Friday at PARC. Arrangements, T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, Palmerton.
