Robert W. Sipko Sr.
Robert W. Sipko Sr., 84, of Summit Hill, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at his residence, just shy of his 85th birthday. He was the husband of the late Margaret E. "Margie" (Crossin) Sipko for 63 years until her death on July 22, 2016.
Robert last worked in the maintenance department of the Panther Valley School District and previously worked at various local garment factories as a spreader and cutter.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late John and Kathryn (Krutsick) Sipko.
He was a member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley.
He was a graduate of the former Summit Hill High School, Class of 1950.
During Robert's high school years he was characterized as being very intelligent, artistic and musically inclined and had carried these attributes with him throughout his entire life.
Surviving are: a son, John Sipko and his wife, Trudy, of Whitehall; two sisters, Dolly Zale of Allentown and Jackie Yanacek, and her husband Frank, of Sun Center City, FL; a daughter-in-law, Julie Sipko of Philadelphia; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy Crossin, and his wife Edith, of Jim Thorpe; four grandchildren, Jack, and his wife Jen, of Northampton, Joey of Whitehall, Matthew and Luke both of Philadelphia; three great -grandchildren, Ava Rose, Jackson Ryder and Isabella Margaret; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Sipko Jr.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. Friday, St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill. Interment, St. Joseph Cemetery, White Bear, Summit Hill.
