Thomas J. Carrigan
Thomas J. "Tucker" Carrigan, 81, of Broad Mountain View Drive, Jim Thorpe. passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Barbara H. (Huber) Carrigan. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniver-sary on Sept. 3.
Born in Coal-dale, he was a son of the late Thomas J. Sr. and Marie (Sheehan) Carrigan.
He was a 1954 graduate of Mauch Chunk Catholic High School.
He was an Airman First Class serving in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Okinawa just after the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Church and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church, Jim Thorpe.
He had been retired after working as a technician for Mack Trucks, Macungie, and Winnsboro, S.C. He had first been employed by the former Monk Fur in Jim Thorpe, then he had worked for the PB&E Railroad, and the former Bethlehem Steel.
After retiring he and Barbara assisted their daughter Maureen in many ways at the former Carrigan's Country Pharmacy in Albrightsville.
He was a sports fanatic and loved to play golf.
He also loved playing baseball in high school and while stationed in Okinawa.
His favorite team was the Red Sox.
Tucker especially loved his family.
Besides his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his children, Maureen, wife of David Althouse of Hellertown; Dianne, wife of Michael Dillon of Reinholds; Daniel Carrigan and wife Christy of Harrisburg; James Carrigan of Bethlehem and Thomas Carrigan and wife Tara of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Dolores Gillespie and Patricia McFadden, both of Jim Thorpe; 14 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, John "Shark" Carrigan.
Service: There will be a Mass of the Christian Burial, 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 1, in St. Peter the Fisherman Church, 2111 Lake Dr., Lake Harmony, with the Rev. John P. Chizmar officiating.
There will be a viewing from 9-10 a.m. in the church.
Interment with military honors will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Jim Thorpe.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be sent to his church 18624; or the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington D.C., 20090-6011.

So sorry to hear this just now! Tommy took me under his wing as I was hired in Winnsboro in 1997. We rode the van back and forth for a while until he retired. Great man and he was appreciated when I didn't know a soul down there.
