Tina Nanovic Obituary

Mrs. Tina M. Nanovic

Mrs. Tina M. Nanovic, 65, of Wargo Road, Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, in her home. She was the wife of Thomas S. Nanovic. They celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary on Sept. 28.

Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Luther A. and Laura T. (Dotter) Getz.

She was a 1977 graduate of Jim Thorpe Area High School and a 1981 graduate of Dickinson College of Carlisle.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Albrightsville.

Tina enjoyed reading and gardening.

She loved spending time with her family and especially her granddaughter.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Erin M. Nanovic, wife of John Paul Bezerra of Philadelphia; a son, Sean T. Nanovic of Houston, TX; sisters, Patricia Burke of Brodheadsville, and Cindy, wife of Roger Nanovic of Penn Forest Township; a brother, William Getz of Jonas; a granddaughter, Laura Bezerrra; and nieces and nephews.

Service: Funeral service noon Saturday, Dec. 21, Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. William Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Palmerton, Call 11 a.m.-noon Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, 370 Seventh Ave., Suite 1802, New York, N.Y. 10001.

Tina and I met in college. We lived in the same dorm. After meeting we became fast friends and have remained in touch all these years. She was a wonderful person and friend. My sincere condolences to the Nanovic family. Rest in peace my dear friend.
