Miss Annette Marie "Nette"

Miss Annette Marie Hughes, 53, of Toledo, OH passed away Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo in the presence of her loving family. She was a 1978 graduate of the Morrison R. Waite High School and was a devoted homemaker.

Surviving are sons, Tellus (Alake) of Toledo, OH and Gary A. Hughes of Columbus, OH; father, Harold Hughes Sr.; brothers, Harold (Renee) Hughes Jr. of Aurora, CO, Thomas L. (Laurie) Hughes of Toledo and Leon (Dawn) Hughes of Adrian, MI; sisters, Nellie (Scott) Thompson and Shonnah R. Hughes; grandchildren, Telayah and Telissa Hughes, all of Toledo and a host of other loving relatives and kind friends.

Funeral Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014, preceded by Family Hour/Wake Services at 3 p.m. at the Mt. Nebo MB Church, 830 North Detroit Avenue. The Reverend Cedric Brock, Pastor, officiating.

Ma, it is hard for me to express myself. I always had you for refuge and know my safe haven is gone. I know that life goes on and time waites for none but I didn't have enough time with you. It is with a deep and great sadness for which I have in my heart, given the lost of my mother. There aren't any words in the dictionary that could possibly describe the confusing feeling that I have towards her death. Yet, I view her passing as a transition into a new life, wherein she can start anew - and for that, I am excited for her.

So, with that said, enjoy your time in heaven 'Ma and tell my Dad I said hey! I'm sure everyone there loves you - just as much as we all loved you here on Earth!

Nanna, we miss you so much. I will never forget the life lesson that you taught. You use to say, "you can feel love a million miles away", and that's what I feel when I think of you. Last year you would cook your sunday meals, send me plates, called and checked on me, all while you was sick yourself. I love you Nanna, and now you don't have to be in pain anymore. The girls love you and miss you too,your all they talk about.
