Anthony JAGODZINSKI Obituary

JAGODZINSKI Anthony A. "Tony" Anthony A. Jagodzinski, 87, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010, at The Toledo Hospital. Anthony was born in Toledo on May 15, 1923, the son of Ignatius and Veronica (Glisiecka) Jagodzinski. He had worked for Doehler Jarvis Co., then as a meat cutter for Williams Provision Co. Prior to that he cut meat at Landowski Market and Kaptur's Market. Tony served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of Przybylski American Legion Post #642, Logsdon-Walla Post #639 Catholic War Veterans and was a former member of St. Anthony Parish where he was a Councilman over 30 years and was Past President of the Holy Name Society. Tony was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Virginia; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his loving daughters, Geri (Bob) Lawecki, Fran (Rich) Niedbalski, Patricia (Skip) Ward, Betty Rybarczyk and Sue (Tim) Urbaniak; 11 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren; brother, Joseph; sister, Helen Gorajewski; brother-in-law, Ollie Spitulski; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Zaborski and his faithful companion, Muffy. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at the W. K. Sujkowski & Son Funeral Home, 3838 Airport Hwy., where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. by Logsdon Walla Post #639 CWV, followed by Przybylski AL Post #642 Services at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Hyacinth Catholic Church where the family will receive friends after 9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment with Military Honors by the Lucas County Burial Corp will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests tributes be directed to St. Hyacinth Parish or the Franciscan Care Center. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Robin and Phil Pilcher and her family; Jeni, Tony and Cody; Clarence Lewis Jr. and all the staff at the Franciscan Care Center for the compassionate care they gave to Tony. It was truly appreciated.

ondolences to the family...I grew up on Buckingham St. and knew the Jagodzinski family...And, Ollie told me about Tony...He was a good man..I just found out.In the Legion paper...God bless you all..

Betty,
My prayers are with you and your family on your loss. I can still see Mr. Jagodzinski (as we called him in the days) at so many of the functions we had growing up in St. Anthony's church. And he was always smiling. His smile was contagious.

Our condolences to the family
Tony and Virg were my mom's closest friends all the years our families were growing up and then when Tony and Virg moved to Maumee near mom's house they always stopped in for coffee and a vist
Mom was deeply saddened to hear of Tony's passing but we know he is in a better place and close to his loving wife once more
