Barbara Bonczek Obituary
October 28, 1932 - July 6, 2025
Barbara Jean Bonczek, age 92, of Toledo, Ohio, was given notice from Our Lord that a place was saved for her in Heaven and she immediately RSVP'd on July 6, 2025. Barbara was born in Hudson, MI, October 28, 1932, to Louis and Magdaleen (Stump) McNett. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Hedwig Church where she was active in their Adult Choir, their Bible Study, the Altar Rosary Society, and she was Past President of the LCBA. Some of her other many activities included membership in the St. Francis Guild, the Zablocki Senior Center, TATOS, TPGS, TAPS, PRCUA, and Catholic War Veterans Post 1675 Ladies Auxiliary. Barb was also a Eucharistic Minister at St. Vincent and St. Ann's hospitals for over 24 years.
Surviving are her children, Christopher (Janet) Bonczek, Larry (Teresa) Bonczek, Alan (Cheryl) Bonczek, Jillian Bonczek. Also surviving are grandchildren, Candice (Dan) Hinkle, Katie Rose (Paul) Marshall, Laraine Bonczek, Grant Bonczek, Jordan (April) Bonczek and Alex Kelly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Julie Ann Bonczek; her husband, Richard; and her siblings, Roy McNett, Catherine Polichnia, Ruth Ost and Betty Gradomski.
Barbara's Life Celebration will be Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Urbanski Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Rd., Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will continue Friday, July 11, from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass begins at 11 a.m., in Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, Ohio. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
