Barbara Kennedy Obituary

Barbara Jean Kennedy

Barbara Jean Kennedy passed away at 82 years of age in Sylvania, Ohio, on December 14, 2023. Barb sadly left us due to complications of a rare inherited liver/lung disease.

Barb was born in Toledo, Ohio, on March 15, 1941, to the late Beatrice (Morrette) and Jerry Koepfer. Barb was a 1959 graduate of Whitmer High School. Her most recent employment was that of "placement director" at Davis College. There were very few people who knew more than her about interviewing for a position, etiquette, grace, and proper dress. Barb was a current day "Emily Post", she was the one to call if you had any type of questions regarding what to wear, or what piece of silverware to use first.

Most recently Barb loved reading, watching Hallmark movies, QVC shopping, theatre productions, and dinner with her friends. She always had a very special love and affection for cats. Mostly, Barb will be remembered for her warm compassion and her ability to be a truly good listener.

In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her first husband, Art Apostle; son, Jeff Apostle; sister, Bonnie (Brennan) Castellese; and her husband, Jack Kennedy. Left to cherish her memory, are her daughter, Dianna (Luke) Hayes; sister, Beverly (Bruce) Hickman; stepson, Kevin Kennedy; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous loving relatives and friends. Mary Bailey and Ronda Grosvenor- your kindness will never be forgotten.

Barb's wishes were to have her body donated to the University of Toledo College of Medicine. As per her request, there were no funeral services. Those wishing to make a charitable donation in Barbara's memory are asked to consider the ALS Foundation, St. Francis de Sales High School, or St. Ursula Academy.

All of us who loved and admired Barb will truly miss her until the day we are all reunited.
