Barbara Kingsley Obituary

KINGSLEY Barbara Lynn Barbara Lynn Kingsley passed away, suddenly, in her home, on Sunday, July 29th, 2007. Having triumphed over numerous tribulations in her fifty-seven years, many of which others would have described as insurmountable, Barbara's death, quiet and dignified, matched the way which she met obstacles in life. After overcoming the death of her husband, Mark, in 1986, she admirably raised sons, Joshua James, who is developmentally disabled, and David. She was also a Defiance College alumnus, whose majors in English and theater gave her the knowledge, means, and outlets with which to escape her myotonia congenita, a neuromuscular disease that she had been afflicted with, since childhood. At Defiance, she began a correspondence with her mother, which would predict a lifelong friendship. Barbara liked shopping for clothes. A lot. And Forrest Gump was her favorite movie. Revolver was her favorite album, but she also enjoyed Tommy and Breakfast in America. Barbara Kingsley can't be qualified in picas and with printer's ink. She is not only survived by her parents, Dorothy and Richard Hunt; her brother, Robert and her sons, but also by an inordinate number of felines. Services will be private with burial at Toledo Memorial Park. Blanchard - Strabler Funeral Home (419) 269-1111 is handling arrangements. Online condolences: blanchardstrabler.com

My husband and I attended Defiance College with "Barb" as we knew her then and, thirty + years later, we remember her infectious smile, her spunk and her great love for life. It was obvious to all that she would leave our world a far better place for having lived.
Her mission was accomplished.

We mourn the passing of a remarkable woman.

Davey and JJ, I am sure that there is nothing I can say about your mother that you don't already know. I lived next door to your family when you lived on airport highway. Your mom and dad were both outstanding people. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
