Barbara Soncrant

Barbara Ruth Soncrant, age 88, of Toledo, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Kingston Residence of Sylvania. She was born on March 15, 1932, to Joseph and Barbara Stader. Barb was a lifelong caregiver. She raised 5 children and cared for 5 of her grandchildren in her home daycare. She then worked for 10 years at the Swanton Health Care and Retirement Center, as an STNA before retiring to care for her loving husband. Barb's family was her greatest love. She also loved bowling, her family swimming pool and attending numerous sporting events involving her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid Detroit Tiger baseball fan.

Barb was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob Soncrant; her son, Gary Soncrant; her parents, Joseph and Barbara Stader; her brother, Joseph M. Stader; and her sisters, Jean Barnett and Shirley Lorenzen. Surviving are her children, Mike (Cindy) Soncrant, Jeff (Arline) Soncrant, Randy (Laura) Soncrant and Debbie (Rick) Rine. She is also survived by her brothers, Donald (Veronica) Stader, James Stader and Richard (Terry Maria) Stader; sister in law, Pat Stader; and her grandchildren, Alexis (Josh) Jones, Joseph (Christina) Soncrant, Jessica (Jordan) Kastor, Eric (Rachel) Soncrant, Leslie, Kevin, Jared, and Nick Soncrant and Austin Rine, as well as 6 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated wonderful staff at Kingston Residence of Sylvania as well as the compassionate care of the staff from Ohio Living Hospice.
