Brian Kelley Obituary

KELLEY Brian J. Brian J. Kelley, 46, of St. Augustine, FL, formerly of Ponte Vedra Beach, passed away suddenly April 25, 2007. He was born January 7, 1961, in Quincy, MA. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1983. "Life" kept Brian and his family moving throughout the country. He began his career with the Hammermill Paper Company in Erie, PA. After many moves he and his family returned to Florida in 2000, where he began his career change in financial advising. He worked for Bank of America and most recently, Morgan Stanley in St. Augustine. He was a very caring and compassionate man; his memberships included the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging sponsoring two children, and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Cathedral Parish of Saint Augustine. The most important thing in life to Brian was his girls; he was a most devoted husband, father and son. He had tremendous faith in God and family and a great confidence in his fellow man. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, a "do-it-yourself" man, and a very proud American. He also loved fishing, music and the ocean. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 21 years, Susie Kelley; daughters, Casey, Quinn and Emma; father, Edward and his wife, Nancy; siblings, Kathy (Tom) Garvin, Mark (Debbie) Kelley, Susan (Jose) Almeida, Anne (Bob) Cavellier, Lynn Fleure; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Mary Lou Busch; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Donita) Busch, Mary Kaye (Scott) Riley and Jim (Cristina) Busch; 12 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis G. Kelley. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28th in St. Paul's Catholic Church of Jacksonville Beach with the Reverend William Kelly as Celebrant. A private interment followed. In lieu of flowers donations preferred to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 526 First Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Susie, I am so sad to hear this devastating news. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your girls and both your families. Brian touched many lives and will be remembered fondly by a tremendous number of people. I still have a crazy bootleg cassette tape he made back in the early 80's. Over the years the music has made me laugh and kept some good old memories alive.

To The Kelley Family:
I was shocked to read about Brian and his untimely passing. Brian and I were friends at Miami and fellow Toledoans. I've had many laughs over the years thinking about our year as R.A.'s, and always regretted we didn't keep in touch. It's ironic we both ended up as bankers! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To the Kelley Family,
I felt very sad when my mother, Sandy Wiseley, called today and she told me about Brian's passing. Even though we have not spoken in many years, I feel a deep sense of loss. Brian and I were great buddies in our youth, and we shared many wonderful times in Ottawa Hills. I know that he was a great friend and always thought he would be a great Dad. My prayers and thoughts go out to everyone in the Kelley family.

With much love,

Susie,

I can't adequately express how sorry I was to hear the news of Brian. He was simply the best and I know how luckly we all were to have known him and spend some time with him. He will be greatly missed but he left us with a lot of great memories that we will always have. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your girls in the days ahead.

Dear Mrs. Kelley: Brian entered our lives through a cold call he made to us while he was still working in JAX near TPC. He came at just the right time, and we had a wonderful relationship with him. We had, in fact, had an appointment to meet with him at his new office yesterday.

We are deeply saddened and wish you and the girls strength and peace.
