Carol CARL Obituary

CARL Carol Carter Carol Carter Carl, age 84, has gone peacefully to her God on April 9, 2010 at Ebeid Hospice Center. She was born in Atlanta, GA on March 17, 1926, to Benedict and Marvelle Carter. She had one brother, Richard, who is deceased. She was married on September 13, 1947 to Thomas A. Carl, her surviving and devoted husband of 62 years. She is also survived by her three children, Kathryn, Tom (Gloria) and Liz; grand-children, Tobias, Carrie, Nicholas, and Jacob, and nine great-grandchildren. Carol raised her children under God's loving eyes and protection. She devoted endless hours of her time and concern as a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital. She co-chaired the Craft Show from the hospital to the Masonic Auditorium. She personally was sought out for her own hand crafted and unique wares. She volunteered at Christ the King assisting in many areas of administration. Carol dedicated her life to her faith, family, friends, and community generously and lovingly. She is at home and at rest in God's Hands and now ever watchful, still protecting and guiding her family to the everlasting light and love of our Lord Jesus, Mary and all the angels in heaven. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) from 4-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home with prayers at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of the Resurrection at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH 43623 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King. Dear Tom, Tommy, Liz, Katherine and Toby and family...I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. She was a beautiful lady who cared for me dearly when I met you at Christ the King. I was a newcomer to the city of Toledo and to the parish family and all of you welcomed me as your own. I thank you for sharing your love but will treasure always the wonderful breakfast memories I shared not only with you Tom but of Carol...your beautiful Southern Bell. She will be your angel and someone I will never forget.
Be assured of my prayers as I mourn your loss from afar.

To the Carl family, I would like to express my sorrow for the loss of Carol. It has been a joy for me to assist your wife. Carol was an angel on earth as she is in heaven. I will always remember the fun she and I shared, the times we laughed, and the stories we told . May God continue to bless you and your family as many prayers are being said to help you through your time of sorrow. Your Friend, Beth
